Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift

As I talked about in my previous post, last Saturday I attended the Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show.  One of the speakers that really interested me was Katherine, the regional trainer for Trish McEvoy.  She was talking about the Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift.  I have puffiness, dark circles, and the beginning of fine lines around my eyes.  This product really caught the attention of my old looking eyes.

When the show was done we all had the opportunity to try out the products that interested us.  I made a beeline for the Trish McEvoy counter to get my hands on the Instant Eye Lift.  I was lucky enough that Katherine, the regional trainer, was available to help me and help me she did.

She first introduced me to Trish McEvoy’s “Beauty Booster” Eye Serum ($99).  This stuff instantly reduced my puffiness, dark circles, and the new fine lines.

She then added the Trish McEvoy “Beauty Booster” Advance Repair Retinol Eye Cream ($126).  This has the highest non-prescription concentration of retinol along with reservatrol and hyaluronic acid.  I have already noticed a reduction in those pesky new fine lines.

For the finishing eye touch Katherine applied the Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift ($39).

She applied it like an upside down triangle using this amazing brush (Trish McEvoy Deluxe Blender Brush $60) that I just had to have.

I have used literally almost every concealer on the market and the Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift is by far my favorite.  My new routine of the Trish McEvoy Eye Serum, Retinol Eye Cream, and Instant Eye Lift has totally transformed my eyes.

There are a lot of other Trish McEvoy products I want to go back and try.  Some of these include:

I’m really impressed with Trish McEvoy’s products.  I’ve learned that all of her products are paraben and cruelty free.  She is an independent business woman and she herself oversees all of her company’s operations.

Thank you Katherine for all of your help last Saturday.  It was so much fun!  XOXO Michelle

Nordstrom Spring Beauty Trend Show

Yesterday I attended the Nordstrom Spring Beauty Trend Show in Oak Brook, IL.  It included many top beauty brands showing off their newest and best products for spring.  They also showed some great fashion.  I’m going to focus this post on the beauty and fashion that caught my eye the most.

CHANTECAILLE EYE SHADOW TRIO ($95):

I liked the natural color of these shadows.  They are great to layer and contour.  In addition, five percent of the proceeds are donated to African wildlife charities supporting the animals shown on the products.

YVES SAINT LAURANT BABY DOLL KISS & BLUSH ($34):

This is a great product to use on your busy days and to keep in your purse for touch ups.  Use the lighter shade on your cheeks (and maybe even your eyes) and the darker shade is good for your lips.

TOM FORD SOLEIL BLANC DRY OIL SPRAY ($70):

Tom Ford’s Private Blend Soleil Blanc fragrance is perfect for spring/summer.  This fragrance comes in many application options but I like the dry oil spray the best.  You get the wonderful Soleil Blanc fragrance along with the emollience of sweet almond oil.

FREE PEOPLE OUTFIT: TOP ($128), CAMISOLE ($68), SHORTS ($78), KIMONO ($35)

This was one of the outfits they featured.  I thought it was very wearable and flattering.  I think it would be a great outfit to wear to an outside concert this summer.

KATE SOMMERVILLE EXFOLIKATE DAILY FOAMING WASH ($38):

Kate Sommerville’s ExfoliKate is my favorite exfoliating treatment.  I’m very excited by the ExfoliKate Daily Foaming Wash.  It contains AHAs and other natural exfoliators.  I plan to use this a couple times a week to deep clean my face.

FRESH BLACK TEA FIRMING OVERNIGHT MASK ($92):

This mask is made to give your face the appearance of having an overnight face lift.  You can layer it over your normal night time routine.  This would be good to use on weekends or anytime you want to look your best.

The Nordstrom spring beauty trend show was fun and informative.  A lot of the models were wearing statement tassel earrings (as shown in my prior 3-16-17 post called “Fun New Spring Accessories”) and sporting athleisure wear (as shown in my prior 1-22-17 post called “Mix & Match Athluxury”).

After the show, I visited  the Trish McEvoy counter because I wanted to try her Instant Eye Lift but I left there with so much more.  I will post about that great experience this upcoming week so you don’t want to miss it.  XOXO Michelle

2017 Sunglass Trends

There’s several new styles of “sunnies” at the stores this season.  They are fun but since they are trendy I wouldn’t invest a lot of money in them.  Due to this, I have found some budget friendly options for you.

ROUND SUNGLASSES – these are most flattering on women with sharp, angular features with square or oblong shaped faces.  The round shape softens and balances your facial features.

ASOS ($16)

ASOS ($22) – I had to order these myself

COLORED LENSES – a big trend for spring/summer 2017.  They are a lot of fun but less versatile than traditional lenses so don’t invest a lot of money in them.  To make colored lenses a little more versatile you may want to stick with ones that have black rims.  I also think the black rims with the colored lenses is a very chic look.

Nordstrom ($24)

ASOS ($22)

CAT EYE SUNGLASSES – especially flattering on women who have pointy chins.  Women with heart and diamond shaped faces will get the most out of cat-eye sunglasses but they will also suit any face shape.

Nordstrom ($98)

ASOS ($19)

HAVANA SUNGLASSES  – another name for the classic tortoise shell pattern.  It’s a marbled effect, usually of two colors, but it can be more complex as in the case of the pink ones from Banana Republic below.

Nordstrom ($24)

Banana Republic ($98)

All of these sunglasses are so fun and at these prices you do not have to pick just one.  XOXO Michelle

Rufflemania

A  ruffle here – a ruffle there – ruffles are everywhere.  The styles to get a hold of are the ones that balance femininity with a little sleekness.  Think one shoulder tops, voluminous skirts, and asymmetrical dresses.  I found some great ruffled pieces to add to your spring/summer wardrobes including this beautiful dress above from ASOS ($68) that is begging to be worn for a special occasion.

TOPS:

Shein ($14)

Ruffles are one of the biggest trends this season.  As you can see above, I found many budget friendly options to help us get into Rufflemania.

Fun New Spring Accessories

Accessories can take your look to the next level.  This spring there are many fun options to do that.

STATEMENT EARRINGS – these are a must have this spring.  They look great with off the shoulder tops.

BaubleBar ($34)

ANKLETS – a great option with shorts or rompers.

Express ($23 – now on sale for $14)

These earrings from BaubleBar ($32) would look cute with the above anklet.

NECK SCARVES – these look so cute worn with a light weight sweater or worn as a choker.  I found a couple good options at Banana Republic.  The first one is $38 and the second one is $32.  I also put below a couple examples of how to wear both looks.

WRAP BELTS – not only are they fashionable but they also are figure flattering by defining your waist.  A win win in my book.  The first one below is from Nordstrom ($29) and I have also included an example of how to wear these.

There are so many great accessories to choose from this season.  I hope they inspire you to have fun with fashion this spring.  XOXO Michelle

The Season of Stripes

Me in my new favorite striped shirt from SheIn ($20)

This spring stripes are everywhere.  This print is trying to maneuver itself for some serious space in your closet.  And why not?  It’s one of the most wearable and figure flattering trends this season.  Below are some of my favorite striped looks:

Target ($30) – this dress is from the “Who What Wear” collection

Revolve ($160) – good causal look but could also be worn out on the town

Forever 21 ($38) – great casual dress featuring the on trend off the shoulder look

Nordstrom ($35) – the one shoulder trend is huge for spring/summer

Nordstrom ($60) – I love this shirt because the contrasting colors and tie in front make it very original

Nordstrom Bodysuit ($49) and Nordstrom Pants ($149) – I think this outfit is so chic

Forever 21 ($45) – loving this shirt with a cool matching choker

Nordstrom ($109) – this will look great with a pair of espadrille wedges

I hope you liked my favorite striped looks and it inspired you to try this very wearable trend.  XOXO Michelle

The Spring/Summer Smokey Eye

This is the spring/summer version of the smokey eye.  I love these colors and think this is such a fresh and modern look.  To achieve this look you use the “Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow” palette below that you can find at Sephora ($49).

Follow these steps to get the spring/summer smokey eye that is pictured above:

  1. Sweep the color “Peaches & Cream” from the palette all over the lid
  2. Put “Just Peachy” in the crease and also blend it under the eye
  3. Add “Summer Yum” in the crease and also blend it under the eye
  4. Put “Champagne” in the corners and center of the eye lid
  5. Softly add a little “Summer Yum” in the outside corners of the eye
  6. Blend all of these together

For daytime with this eye look, I would use the below “Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in #6 Rose Nocturne” from Sephora ($34).

For a nighttime look I would add a subtle cat eye with Stila “Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner” (Sephora $22) and a darker lipstick like “Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick #10 Boyish Rose” that you can also find at Sephora ($34).

I think the IT Cosmetics “Your Most Beautiful You” palette ($38) would work great with this look.

I’m so excited to start wearing this look and think it will look great with all the new spring fashions.  XOXO Michelle

The Tops You Need Now

Since I am so excited for spring, I want to talk about spring tops in this post.  Leading us off is the one from Nordstrom ($79) I have on above.  Below are some of my favorite tops for spring that are very on trend.  I love the first one below from Nordstrom ($49).  The styling is on point with the off shoulder  ruffled sleeve and the keyhole neckline.  It will be a staple in my wardrobe for the upcoming seasons.

Below is a denim ruched off shoulder top from Nordstrom ($89).  Denim is a spring and summer staple especially when paired with white jeans.

This cold shoulder top is from Revolve ($70).  I chose this because blush is the hot color of the season and I love the silhouette and tassels.

The next top is from Nordstrom ($78).  I love the print and the shape of the sleeves almost gives it an appearance of a cape.

This off shoulder puff sleeve top is from Forever 21 ($28).  It is so cute and I love this fresh new look.

The next top you need now is from Moon River ($70).  I love the pretty feminine print and style.

Next up is a black off shoulder top from ASOS ($25).  I think the straps on the shoulder and the split sleeves make this top very cool.

Lastly from Forever 21 ($35) is a white off the shoulder top.  This will look great with denim shorts and I love the tassels.

I am really loving these fun new styles for spring and summer.  I think they are flattering and wearable. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up to rock some of these new looks.  XOXO Michelle

Margarita Time

ASOS ($49)

I just got back from Mexico (me in downtown Zihuatanejo above) but I feel as if I never left.  I see the influence of Mexico in a lot of the spring fashion.  There’s floral embroidery, off the shoulder ruffle shirts, and beaded earrings everywhere.  Here’s a few of my favorites:

Moon River at ASOS ($113)

ASOS ($43)

Forever 21 ($48)

ASOS ($46)

Free People at ASOS ($57)

ASOS ($43)

BaubleBar at Nordstrom Earrings ($38) and Bracelets ($58)

If you can’t make it to Mexico on vacation, wear these clothes and you will feel like you are.
