Every season new trends emerge. I really love some of the 2017 fall trends and I think they can be easily integrated into your wardrobe. You want to pick pieces that are on trend but also are true to your style. You want to wear the new fall trends without them wearing you.
This is the biggest 2017 fall trend. They showed head to toe red outfits on the runway. I think it’s more wearable, less trendy, and more unexpected to wear a red shoe instead. Wearing a red shoe (especially boots) will give your outfit a pop of color and make you on-trend.
Journey Bootie – DSW ($50) – these boots are a beautiful bright shade of red and at a great price.
Velvet was shown on all the runways and in all of the magazines for the fall. Once again I recommend wearing the trend in small unexpected ways like a velvet cami under a long cardigan. A velvet scarf is a great third piece option.
Glamorous Velvet Cross Body Bag – ASOS ($42) – a velvet bag is also a great way to wear the trend. This one comes in the color of the season and looks more expensive than what it is. It is a perfect going out bag.
Shearling is a huge trend for fall. I love this shearling coat and the great price.
Vintage Inspired Faux Fur
A faux fur coat is so fun to wear for a night out. A vintage inspired style is the one to try this fall.
Plaid is always big for the fall. This season they are showing what’s called “Prince of Wales Plaid.” I think it’s a really fresh look for the new season.
Oversized Plaid Blazer – Express ($168) – this is a great piece for your fall wardrobe because it can be dressed up for work or worn with a t-shirt and jeans.
Sheer tops are all over the stores this fall. You’ll see tops that are completely sheer or that have sheer arms. The completely sheer ones can be worn with a cami, bandeau, or pretty bralette underneath.
Bell sleeves, blush pink, off shoulder / cold shoulder tops, leather, slogan tees, athleisure, and white boots continue to be in style for the fall. Wearing your t-shirt or sweater off the shoulder is an easy way of updating your existing clothes and look. Never wear something just because it’s trendy. Pick and choose the trends that you like and that compliment your style. XOXO Michelle
