Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Nordstrom is now having it’s half yearly sale until June 4th.  A lot of their spring/summer clothes, shoes, and accessories are 30-40% off.  It’s their biggest sale other than the anniversary sale which starts July 14th and features their fall/winter clothes.  Here are my favorites picks for the current sale.

Tops:

Vince Camuto ($65) – this top comes in other colors but the blush pink is so pretty

Sanctuary ($41) – this cold shoulder top can be worn with shorts or jeans and will look great with a pair of espadrilles

Rebecca Minkoff ($59) – orange is a hot color for summer and I love the silhouette of this top

Chelsea28 ($41) – this is one of the cutest blue and white striped shirts I’ve seen.  This is a must have.

Bobeau ($29) – this top also comes in black and pink.  I would wear it with white denim and the colorful espadrilles that will be shown later in this post.  I’ve seen this a lot on Instagram and it looks very cute on.

Caslon ($27) – the linen blend off the shoulder top comes in an array of colors and I appreciate the longer length

Bobeau ($35) – this great cold shoulder shirt comes in 1x to 3x

Vince Camuto ($59) – this floral top comes in 1x to 3x and will look great with light denim cropped jeans

Jeans:

STS Blue ($29) – these are so on trend with the frayed hem and distressing

Treasure and Bond ($59) – the skinny boyfriend jeans have a step hem and lighter wash which is great for summer

Kut from the Kloth ($66) – these jeans are so cute and perfect for summer.  They come in 16w to 24w.

Dresses:

Leith ($41) – white dresses are so perfect for summer and this one is simple yet chic.  You can dress it up or down.

Socialite ($27) – everyone needs a t-shirt dress in their wardrobe.  You can dress them up or down and are great to throw on when it’s really hot.  You can put a cardigan over them and wear them with boots into the fall.  I have given you three good options from this sale (one above and two below).

Socialite ($20)

Sejour ($59)

Jackets:

Hinge ($53) – this jacket is beautiful and looks so cool with just a simple t-shirt and jeans or shorts

Shoes:

Sam Edelman ($80) – espadrilles are must haves for the summer.  The above and below are a couple of good choices that are on sale.

Kenneth Cole ($84)

Tory Burch ($151) – these Tory Burch flats are so cool and can be worn with so much

Sam Edelman ($32) – I love the colors in these.  They will add a pop of color to a plain t-shirt and shorts outfit.

Vince Camuto ($70) – these sandals can be worn now and into the fall.  I love the color.

Accessories:

Tory Burch ($417) – rose gold and silver watch.  It’s beautiful and 40% off.  A great time to get this great piece.

Cluse ($59) – this is a great inexpensive watch.  I love the blush pink band for summer.

Chan Luu ($29) – this necklace will look great with an off the shoulder top.  It comes in other colors too.

This is a great sale with so much to choose from.  Items are going fast so if there is something you like grab it now.  If there is something that you like that is sold out in your size, I would put it in your wish list in a different size and check back to see if they have restocked it.  I stalk the site like this and sometimes it pays off.

Just a reminder the Nordstrom anniversary sale is a great time to stock up on fall/winter clothes and that starts on July 14th.  It is overwhelming but I will be here to help you find the best sale items.

XOXO Michelle

The Latest Summer Fashion Trends

There are a few new trends that I’ve been noticing on Instagram and Pinterest: scarves, neon yellow shoes, and basket bags.

Scarves:

Wearing a scarf around a bun is very popular right now and I think it looks great for summer.  My hair is too short for a bun but I plan on wearing a scarf like a headband when it gets really hot and I want my bangs out of my face.  You can also tie a scarf around a ponytail.

Target ($10)

Target ($10)

Target ($10)

Another option is to just tie the scarf around your bag.

Neon Yellow Shoes:

Yellow shoes look very chic when worn with a minimal outfit.

Nordstrom ($50)

DSW ($25)

Basket Bags:

This Cult Gaia Ark bag is the one that started the basket bag craze.  Unfortunately it is sold out but I have included some similar choices below.

Zara ($60)

Dillards ($149)

EBags ($36 – after using 20% coupon code)

I hope everyone is having a good week in spite of all of the craziness going on in the world.

The Best Straw Bags to Carry You Through Summer

If you’re planning on going to the beach or just want to add a touch of summer to your wardrobe then it’s time to get your hands on a straw bag.  These are some of my favorites:

Target ($35) – I love the shape of this bag.  The pom poms and tassels are so on trend.

Amazon ($20) – This bag looks much more expensive than it is.  It reminds me of a Kate Spade bag.

ASOS ($54) – This bag has a great muted print that will go with anything in your summer wardrobe.

Amazon ($20) – Amazon has a great selection of straw bags.  This one is so cute and I love anything French inspired.

Shein ($29) – This is the bag that I bought for the summer.  I think the print is so pretty and colorful.  I can’t wait to carry it.

I hope you liked my picks.  Remember that there are multiple uses for these bags making them an affordable and fun addition to your summer wardrobe.  Hope you are enjoying your spring so far.  XOXO  Michelle

Tops to Update Your Spring/Summer Wardrobe

You can really spice up your spring/summer wardrobe by adding some new on trend tops.  You can wear these tops with your existing bottoms for some fresh new looks.

Nordstrom ($22) – I love how this top has a sewn-in side tuck that makes it very flattering.  It is definitely more special than a basic top.

Nordstrom ($35) – Everyone needs a cold shoulder top in their spring/summer wardrobe.  This one is in a flattering silhouette and a good price point.  It also comes in a pretty light purple color.

Loft ($45 – on sale right now) – This top is very trendy but can be worn with everything.  I especially like it with some colorful crop pants or a pretty printed skirt.

Banana Republic ($58 plus an additional 40% off right now) – This is one of the cutest blue striped shirts I have seen.  I love the origami like ruffles.  Like all the shirts in this post it is basic enough to go with a lot of things but special enough to make an outfit pop.

Nordstrom ($35) – I love the choker top trend.  This is such a pretty color and will look great with shorts or jeans for a night out.

You don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe every season.  By adding in some new on trend pieces you can totally freshen up your looks.  XOXO Michelle

Fresh Florals

Florals are one of the biggest trends of the season.  A lot of us either don’t like florals or are scared to wear them.  In this post I am going to give you examples of how to wear the trend without it wearing you.

Loft Blazer ($128) – this blazer is a great way to wear the floral trend.  It can be worn casually as shown or dressed up for work.

Loft Shorts ($50) – I went to Loft this week and loved their new spring collection.  I tried on the above shorts and the below top and loved this look.

Loft Top ($55)

Loft Scarf ($20) – a floral scarf is a great way to be on trend and add some interest to your outfit.  This one is pink so you’ll be working the pink trend as well.  You can also wear these scarves around your wrist or as a choker.  I think wearing these scarves with a simple t-shirt is so chic.

ASOS Top ($61) – this top with the below pants is such a beautiful outfit and so on trend with the floral top and the blush pants.

Old Navy Pants ($35 normal price – 40% off right now)

ASOS Shoes ($43) – I love these shoes.  They definitely have a Gucci vibe and would look amazing with a t-shirt and jeans.

These are some great ideas of how to wear florals in a more unexpected and chic way.  I hope you all have a great week and enjoy the warmer weather by wearing something floral.  XOXO Michelle

Why I am Obsessed with ASOS

ASOS ($49)

Hi – my name is Michelle and I have an ASOS obsession.  ASOS is great place to shop for all of the latest trends.  Their shoes are good quality and comfortable.  Their clothes are also good quality and fit true to size.  It’s hard not to have an ASOS obsession with their free shipping, free returns, no sales tax, low prices, and quality merchandise.  These are some of the reasons for my obsession.

TOPS:

ASOS ($52) – this is one of the cutest cold shoulder tops I have seen.

ASOS ($49) – I also love this cold shoulder top and would wear this with light distressed jeans.  If you are looking for some cute shoes to go with this outfit check out my post “Wear Now – Wear Later” from February  27th.  I featured two pairs of sandals and both are now on sale.

ASOS ($44) – wear this with white jeans and the sandals I mentioned above.  If you want a good white jean option I love the ones from my February 23rd post “Finds of the Week.”  As a bonus they are currently on sale.

DRESSES/ROMPERS:

ASOS ($46) – the A-line cut and off shoulder ruffle make this dress very cute and flattering

ASOS ($23) – this is definitely one of the best rompers I have found.  I appreciate the longer length and love the lace detailing.  I think this would be really cute with a longer length cardigan on chilly evenings.

ASOS ($49) – this dress has an interesting style and a flattering A-line cut

SHOES / ACCESSORIES:

ASOS ($38) – these will brighten up an outfit and will look great with the sundresses featured in this post

ASOS ($28) – I am loving the Bohemian vibe of these statement earrings

ASOS ($19)  – lastly are a couple clutches that will be fun additions to your summer wardrobe

ASOS ($19)

Now you know why I am obsessed with ASOS.  If you don’t already shop there, you really should check it out.  I apologize in advance for the time you are going to spend on the ASOS website but remember that is what you have me for.  XOXO Michelle

2017 Sunglass Trends

There’s several new styles of “sunnies” at the stores this season.  They are fun but since they are trendy I wouldn’t invest a lot of money in them.  Due to this, I have found some budget friendly options for you.

ROUND SUNGLASSES – these are most flattering on women with sharp, angular features with square or oblong shaped faces.  The round shape softens and balances your facial features.

ASOS ($16)

ASOS ($22) – I had to order these myself

COLORED LENSES – a big trend for spring/summer 2017.  They are a lot of fun but less versatile than traditional lenses so don’t invest a lot of money in them.  To make colored lenses a little more versatile you may want to stick with ones that have black rims.  I also think the black rims with the colored lenses is a very chic look.

Nordstrom ($24)

ASOS ($22)

CAT EYE SUNGLASSES – especially flattering on women who have pointy chins.  Women with heart and diamond shaped faces will get the most out of cat-eye sunglasses but they will also suit any face shape.

Nordstrom ($98)

ASOS ($19)

HAVANA SUNGLASSES  – another name for the classic tortoise shell pattern.  It’s a marbled effect, usually of two colors, but it can be more complex as in the case of the pink ones from Banana Republic below.

Nordstrom ($24)

Banana Republic ($98)

All of these sunglasses are so fun and at these prices you do not have to pick just one.  XOXO Michelle

Fun New Spring Accessories

Accessories can take your look to the next level.  This spring there are many fun options to do that.

STATEMENT EARRINGS – these are a must have this spring.  They look great with off the shoulder tops.

BaubleBar ($34)

ANKLETS – a great option with shorts or rompers.

Express ($23 – now on sale for $14)

These earrings from BaubleBar ($32) would look cute with the above anklet.

NECK SCARVES – these look so cute worn with a light weight sweater or worn as a choker.  I found a couple good options at Banana Republic.  The first one is $38 and the second one is $32.  I also put below a couple examples of how to wear both looks.

WRAP BELTS – not only are they fashionable but they also are figure flattering by defining your waist.  A win win in my book.  The first one below is from Nordstrom ($29) and I have also included an example of how to wear these.

There are so many great accessories to choose from this season.  I hope they inspire you to have fun with fashion this spring.  XOXO Michelle
