There’s several new styles of “sunnies” at the stores this season. They are fun but since they are trendy I wouldn’t invest a lot of money in them. Due to this, I have found some budget friendly options for you.
ROUND SUNGLASSES – these are most flattering on women with sharp, angular features with square or oblong shaped faces. The round shape softens and balances your facial features.
ASOS ($22) – I had to order these myself
COLORED LENSES – a big trend for spring/summer 2017. They are a lot of fun but less versatile than traditional lenses so don’t invest a lot of money in them. To make colored lenses a little more versatile you may want to stick with ones that have black rims. I also think the black rims with the colored lenses is a very chic look.
CAT EYE SUNGLASSES – especially flattering on women who have pointy chins. Women with heart and diamond shaped faces will get the most out of cat-eye sunglasses but they will also suit any face shape.
HAVANA SUNGLASSES – another name for the classic tortoise shell pattern. It’s a marbled effect, usually of two colors, but it can be more complex as in the case of the pink ones from Banana Republic below.
Banana Republic ($98)
All of these sunglasses are so fun and at these prices you do not have to pick just one. XOXO Michelle
A ruffle here – a ruffle there – ruffles are everywhere. The styles to get a hold of are the ones that balance femininity with a little sleekness. Think one shoulder tops, voluminous skirts, and asymmetrical dresses. I found some great ruffled pieces to add to your spring/summer wardrobes including this beautiful dress above from ASOS ($68) that is begging to be worn for a special occasion.
JUMPSUITS AND ROMPERS:
Ruffles are one of the biggest trends this season. As you can see above, I found many budget friendly options to help us get into Rufflemania.
Me in my new favorite striped shirt from SheIn ($20)
This spring stripes are everywhere. This print is trying to maneuver itself for some serious space in your closet. And why not? It’s one of the most wearable and figure flattering trends this season. Below are some of my favorite striped looks:
Target ($30) – this dress is from the “Who What Wear” collection
Revolve ($160) – good causal look but could also be worn out on the town
Forever 21 ($38) – great casual dress featuring the on trend off the shoulder look
Nordstrom ($35) – the one shoulder trend is huge for spring/summer
Nordstrom ($60) – I love this shirt because the contrasting colors and tie in front make it very original
Nordstrom Bodysuit ($49) and Nordstrom Pants ($149) – I think this outfit is so chic
Forever 21 ($45) – loving this shirt with a cool matching choker
Nordstrom ($109) – this will look great with a pair of espadrille wedges
I hope you liked my favorite striped looks and it inspired you to try this very wearable trend. XOXO Michelle
Since I am so excited for spring, I want to talk about spring tops in this post. Leading us off is the one from Nordstrom ($79) I have on above. Below are some of my favorite tops for spring that are very on trend. I love the first one below from Nordstrom ($49). The styling is on point with the off shoulder ruffled sleeve and the keyhole neckline. It will be a staple in my wardrobe for the upcoming seasons.
Below is a denim ruched off shoulder top from Nordstrom ($89). Denim is a spring and summer staple especially when paired with white jeans.
This cold shoulder top is from Revolve ($70). I chose this because blush is the hot color of the season and I love the silhouette and tassels.
The next top is from Nordstrom ($78). I love the print and the shape of the sleeves almost gives it an appearance of a cape.
This off shoulder puff sleeve top is from Forever 21 ($28). It is so cute and I love this fresh new look.
The next top you need now is from Moon River ($70). I love the pretty feminine print and style.
Next up is a black off shoulder top from ASOS ($25). I think the straps on the shoulder and the split sleeves make this top very cool.
Lastly from Forever 21 ($35) is a white off the shoulder top. This will look great with denim shorts and I love the tassels.
I am really loving these fun new styles for spring and summer. I think they are flattering and wearable. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up to rock some of these new looks. XOXO Michelle
If you can’t wait to wear some of your new spring/summer clothes – you can wear them now too! Here are some ideas:
I love the silhouette of this jumpsuit from Gap ($80). Olive green is a hot color now and into the summer.
I like this jumpsuit with either of the below sandals. The sandal on top is from Old Navy ($37) and below that is a sandal from Nordstrom ($60).
To wear this jumpsuit now you can throw on this cute cardigan from Gap ($60).
Instead of the sandals above you can wear this in the colder weather with booties. I found one that would go nicely at Old Navy ($45). You could also wear a leather jacket and heels if you are going out.
The below dress from Nordstrom ($45) is great for spring and summer with some sandals or sneakers.
It could also be worn now with adding the below leather jacket from Nordstrom ($98) or the cardigan featured above. Change the sandals to tall boots or booties and you are good to go. The above booties would work well.
The below dress from H&M ($40) will look great in a couple months with sandals. It also looks very fashion forward when worn over jeans now. I found a good option for the jeans at H&M ($40).
I hope this post gives you ideas on how to wear your new spring/summer clothes now and later.
Happy hump day! I’m trying something new this week. Besides my normal weekend post, I am going to start doing a mid-week mini-post. In this post I am going to show you the many uses for this denim dress by Topshop. It is a great find at Nordstrom ($80) and would be a good addition to your wardrobe.
You can wear this dress as a top over these J Brand white jeans I found at Nordstrom ($178).
You can also wear it just as a dress with these cute wedges from Gap (on sale for $55).
Lastly you can wear it as a jacket over a cute top and the white jeans above. A good top (below) for this outfit is one I found at Nordstrom by June & Hudson ($55).
I like having pieces that you can wear in more than one way. This gives you more bang for your buck. I hope you enjoyed my inaugural mid-week post. Talk to you all soon. XOXO Michelle
Did you miss me last week? As you know I was recharging my batteries in Mexico so now I am back fresh and ready to go. Speaking of fresh, the stores are starting to get in their spring clothes. It’s so fun to see the new stuff the stores have for us. I’ve tracked down what I think are the best finds of the month.
Must Have Top – the below cold shoulder top (Nordstrom $79) can be worn now and into the spring. I love the white piping which gives it a little something special as compared to other similar tops.
Statement Earrings – these earrings (Nordstrom $48) come in multiple colors. We need statement earrings now and moving into the spring. They give every outfit a little special kick. These would also look great with the must have top above.
Tory Burch Bags – these are so good I could not mention just one. The first one is a clutch (Nordstrom $195) and the second one is a cross body (Zappos $325) which comes in handy when you are out shopping. Both of these come in multiple colors but I am really loving the nude for both of them. I hope the hubby picks up on all of my hints and gets me one of these for my birthday next month.
Steve Madden Platform Sneaker – I love these sneakers (Nordstrom $60). They have a very fresh look about them. They will look great this spring with white denim pants or casual dresses.
I hope you liked my favorite February finds. I really think they will freshen up your wardrobe. Happy shopping! I hope you like my blog and get some great information from it. If so, please subscribe your e-mail below so you don’t miss any posts. XOXO Michelle
